Tierpsy tracker

Tierpsy Tracker is our user-friendly worm tracker. Use it to track worms, extract their posture, and measure comprehensive behavioural fingerprints.

tierpsy tools

These are the tools that we’ve developed for analysing the output of Tierpsy that are common across many of our projects. This code is meant to help others with basic examples of how to use Tierpsy after feature extraction as well as to standardise functions that we keep reusing. Please note that these are still somewhat independently developed. Since André is still mostly responsible for the MATLAB version, expect the Python code to be more mature (and increasingly feature-rich in comparison).

Behavioural syntax

This code breaks worm behaviour into discrete postures and considers how sequences of postures can be used to represent behavioural repertoires to saturation in a given set of conditions. The ideas behind this code are described in our paper introducing the idea of postural syntax and a follow-up paper about using dictionary-based compression as an unsupervised method to identify important sequences.
